Petit Bayahaut Eco Resort St. Vincent, West Indies
Petit Byahaut is a place for those who want to experience nature eloquently.
A place where privacy is accomplished with trees, flowers and space - 50+ acres with 5 guest dwellings. There is 500 feet
of private beach and 2,500 feet of bay and ocean frontage. There are no intrusions of road, telephone, or television. Nature provides the solar-generated power and fresh water. Petit
Byahaut blends technology with nature in a friendly and non-intrusive way. There are 11 reservoirs that store the fresh water
from the rain showers and from the artesian well on the property. Electricity is provided by solar power and used for lighting,
refrigeration and water pressure. Electricity is operated by photovoltaics that converts the DC current from the sun into
AC. Our refrigerator's insulation is environmentally friendly that is 10 times more efficient and cooled by the sun. Petit
Byahaut is a place that blends technology with nature in a friendly and passive approach.
Each
site is individual as dictated by the natural flow of a slope, rock, tree or view. One is an expansive patio with a raised,
screened bedroom. Another is a sculptured wood screened room. All are complete with queen size bed, hammocks, covered natural
wood decks, solar lights and private fresh water bathroom facilities. In various nooks and crannies built into the hills and
surrounded by garden, are hot fresh-water showers, basin, and toilets. There are only 5 sites on 50 acres. Solar powered lights
illuminate your garden shower area, table and deck areas. There are wicker chairs, table, lounge chair, bench and bedside
tables as well as individual solar reading lights.
Eco-tourism is bantered around as a catch-all
for doing something outdoors but consider this resort seriously. There are no intrusions of road, telephone, or television.
Nature provides the solar-generated power and fresh water. Rainwater is stored in nine water cisterns connected by miles of
underground pipes and pumped by solar pumps for pressurized fresh water. Petit Byahaut is a place that blends technology with
nature in a friendly and passive approach.
An international airport on the island is to be completed
in 2012. There are busy local airports serviced from Barbados, St Lucia and Grenada. Petit Byahaut is beautiful and protected
with exceptional snorkeling, kayaking and diving.
